The trail winds through the culturally rich Tamang villages of Gatlang and Somdang, climbs over the dramatic Pangsang Pass, and descends into the untouched valleys of Tipling and Chalish Gaon – regions named for the ruby deposits historically mined in the surrounding hills. Along the way, trekkers are treated to sweeping panoramas of Ganesh Himal, Langtang Lirung, Manaslu, and Paldor Peak, along with lush rhododendron and pine forests, alpine meadows, and warm homestay hospitality rarely found on Nepal’s more commercial routes.
