The Machhapuchre Model Trek is a newly opened trekking area in the Annapurna conservation region, offering a fresh and less crowded trail. This route covers seven major villages that provide ample opportunities for trekking and hiking activities, allowing travelers to experience the hidden cultures of the rural valley. The trek also provides stunning views of the Mount Fishtail (Machhapuchre), Himchuli, Mount Mardi, and Annapurna Himalayan ranges. The region is rich in vegetation and offers scenic beauty with streams running alongside, providing a true experience of the typical cultures and lifestyles of the different ethnic groups in the area.
While some of the villages have developed local homestays to target tourists, we make camping arrangements for the entire Machhapuchre Trekking as part of our 6-day trekking itinerary from and to Pokhara. The actual trekking days are 6 days, but our 11-day itinerary is designed to explore Kathmandu and Pokhara. After arriving in Kathmandu, we provide an extra full day stay with sightseeing of major heritage sites and trip preparation.
From Kathmandu, travelers can either take a 7-hour drive or a 25-minute flight to the natural city of Pokhara. Our trekking starts from here after driving for 30 minutes to reach the starting point. Our staff team, including a guide, cooks, and supporters, carry all necessary tents, food items, and other equipment required for the Machhapuchre Trek. During the trek, you may come across other tourists, but the trekking is mostly through local rural villages, where the daily lives of the locals are interesting and picturesque.
The trekking schedules also offer the option to add Mardi Himal trekking routes or any other short activities, such as paragliding, bungee jumping, rafting, and mountain flight, to make the most of your adventure in the region.
