Nepal Easy Year-round

UNESCO WORLD HERITAGE TOUR

6 Days
2,195m Max Altitude
From $1,155

The Kathmandu Valley holds more UNESCO World Heritage monument zones in a single small area than almost anywhere else on earth, seven in total, the legacy of the Newar civilisation and the Licchavi, Malla, and Shah dynasties that shaped it over some fifteen centuries. This tour is built around four of the valley’s defining sites: the three royal Durbar Squares of Kathmandu, Patan, and Bhaktapur, and the hilltop stupa of Swayambhunath, joined by a night in the hills at Nagarkot for a change of pace and, on a clear morning, a direct view of the Himalayan skyline from Everest westward.

It is a compact, comfortable introduction to Nepal, well suited to first-time visitors or anyone short on time who still wants a genuine sense of the valley’s history, its living religious life, and its mountain backdrop, without the demands of a trek.

Trip Highlights

Walk through three of the Kathmandu Valley's UNESCO-listed royal squares - Kathmandu, Patan, and Bhaktapur Durbar Squares - each with its own distinct architecture and craft tradition
Visit Pashupatinath, one of the most sacred Hindu temple complexes in the world, and Swayambhunath, the hilltop stupa overlooking the entire valley
Catch sunrise over the Himalayan range from Nagarkot, with Everest visible on a clear morning
Explore Bhaktapur's Nyatapola Temple, Nepal's tallest pagoda, and its brick-paved medieval streets
Optional activities in Nagarkot: the Changu Narayan hike, mountain biking, birdwatching, and village visits
Full board throughout, private vehicle and English-speaking guide for all sightseeing
Farewell dinner with live Nepali cultural dance
A gentle, six-day pace - no trekking experience needed

Day-by-Day Itinerary 6 Days

Your tour begins on arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport, where a representative from International Adventures Treks & Expeditions meets you and transfers you by private vehicle to your three-star hotel in the Thamel quarter of Kathmandu. Thamel is the city's traveller hub, a dense knot of narrow lanes lined with shops, bookstores, gear stores, bakeries, and restaurants, and a good place to get your bearings on your first evening in Nepal.

The rest of the day is left free for you to settle in after your flight. A late dinner is served at the hotel, giving you an early introduction to Nepali and continental cuisine before a full sightseeing schedule begins the next morning. Overnight at your hotel in Kathmandu.
